From baked goods to homegrown vegetables, quilts to photography, our contests celebrate the creativity, skill, and hard work of Bedford County residents of all ages. The 2025 Contest Book, featuring entry categories, rules, and deadlines and entry forms are ready for your review. See links below.

General Contests

• Poster/Essay Contest: Creative writing and artistic expression.

• Largest Watermelon: Grow the heaviest watermelon.

• Garden Scarecrow Contest: Design the scariest garden scarecrow.

• Best Painted or Carved Pumpkin

Agricultural and Horticulture

• Adult & Youth Produce: Showcase your best fruits and vegetables.

• Agricultural Crops: Enter your best hay, soybeans, wheat, and more.

• Horticulture Competition: Showcase your best flowers and greenery.

Baked Goods and Food Preservation

• Adult & Youth Baked Goods: Enter your best homemade treats.

• Food Preservation: Display your preserved fruits, jams, and more.

• Special contests - "My Favorite Carrot Cake" and for kids -
  Flower Cookies.

Arts and Crafts

• Adult & Youth Arts & Crafts: Exhibit handmade crafts and goods.

• Quilt Block Contest: Create a traditional quilt block.

• Painted Barn Quilt Contest: Paint an old-fashioned quilt block.
